ABOVE: Scala Santa - the Holy Stairs - transferred from Jerusalem to Rome under the request of St. Helena - St. Constantine's mother. Venerated as the steps Jesus climbed in the house of Pilate during his passion. The only way to climb the Holy Stairs is on your knees.
